Looking at your profile I recommend you start a Spanish campaign you might enjoy it!
My favorite till now has been England with whom I have managed to complete a campaign (a short and a long) and King Rufus was my greatest king and he gives name to my avatar. Denmark, Scotland, Byzantine, Aragon (modded in faction) and France were other candidates. I also thought on playing Sicily but though I love their starting position their units don't end up convincing me, and I also though on Holy Roman Empire who have some awesome units. The second family member (a pity he is not my faction heir =S) now has 9 command stars and I can't wait to be able to recruit some of the coolest cavalry units. So lets try it out! I've had a lot of good times with Poland, they are the best!Īfter reading your post I thought, why haven't I never thought about starting a campaign with Poland? Since I had been wanting to start a new campaign but could decide on no faction I decided to look the unit rooster and thought: cool! Awesome close-combat cavalry and some decent infantry to hold a line. They also got the best calvary in the east (melee I mean) and mounted crossbow men. It makes for a interesting campaign because you are probably the first country to gain a huge city or citadel after turn 20. Poland for me, they got a awesome king which developes cities very quickly, a growth of 4% for castles and over 5% for cities.
